Memorial Weekend Forecast
The holiday weekend has finally arrived, and we hope you enjoy it. For those of you staying in Oklahoma for the long weekend, we have your forecast right here. Despite a slight chance for thunderstorms in the early part of the weekend, conditions should otherwise be quite pleasant, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures right around normal for this time of year. We will now step through the next few days one at a time, but here is a quick overview first.
Saturday/Saturday Night
Skies will be partly cloudy across the state. Isolated thunderstorms may pop up throughout the day, but, should they develop, they will quickly move out of your area. We are not expecting long-lasting thunderstorms like we saw in parts of the state this past week that produced flash flooding concerns. Highs on Saturday will be in the low-to-mid-80s across central and eastern Oklahoma, while they reach the upper-80s in western Oklahoma and the low-90s in the panhandle. Also expect relatively strong southerly winds on Saturday, with sustained speeds 10 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph.
Saturday night brings partly cloudy skies with another slight chance for pop-up thunderstorms. Lows will be in the low-to-upper 60s across the state. Relatively strong winds will persist, blowing from the south-southeast at 10 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.
Sunday/Sunday Night
Expect similar conditions as those on Saturday. Skies will be partly cloudy across the state, but isolated thunderstorms may pop up throughout the day. Highs will reach the low-90s in western Oklahoma, while they remain in the low-to-mid-80s in the central and eastern parts of the state. Winds will blow from the south at 15 to 20 mph, gusting as high as 30 mph.
For Sunday night, expect mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with pop-up thunderstorms possible. Lows will again be in the low-to-upper-60s across the state. Breezy conditions will persist, with a south wind blowing at 15 to 25 mph, gusting up to 30 mph.
Memorial Day
Plentiful sunshine will greet you on Memorial Day as skies stay mostly sunny to partly cloudy throughout the day. Those high temperatures will stay in the low-90s in the west, while the central and east see highs in the mid-to-upper-80s. A slim chance for thunderstorms is possible in western Oklahoma Monday night, with lows in the 60s.
