Storms Possible Again on Wednesday

For the rest of today, we may seem some isolated showers and thunderstorms across the panhandle. Otherwise, we are not expecting any rain across the rest of state; mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies will prevail, along with pleasant afternoon high temperatures. Starting tonight after midnight and lasting through Wednesday night, however, we do have a 20 to 40 percent chance of seeing thunderstorms across central and western Oklahoma. Then, by late-week, rain chances diminish everywhere and warmer temperatures return just in time for the weekend. We will now detail the forecast for the next few days.

This Afternoon/Evening
Despite a 20 percent chance of isolated thunderstorms in the panhandle later this afternoon, we will continue to have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies across the state for the remainder of the afternoon and evening with no rain chances. High temperatures will top out in the mid-80s to low-90s. An east to southeast wind will blow between 5 and 15 mph.

Wednesday
In the early morning, beginning after midnight and lasting through noon, we may seem some thunderstorms develop in western Oklahoma that produce heavy rain, gusty winds, and small hail. Lows on Wednesday morning will be in the mid-to-upper-60s across the state. For Wednesday afternoon, any storms which developed will push eastward, so we have a 20 to 40 percent chance of thunderstorms in place across central Oklahoma and still in the west. Afternoon highs in the 90s return to the panhandle and far western Oklahoma while they remain in the mid-to-upper-80s elsewhere. Rain chances continue through midnight Thursday in central and western Oklahoma. In northeast Oklahoma, we have about a 20 percent chance of seeing thunderstorms after midnight Thursday and lasting through Thursday evening.

Thursday
Northeast Oklahoma has a 20% chance of seeing showers and thunderstorms from Thursday morning through the evening while the rest of the state remains dry and begins to warm up. Morning lows will be in the upper-60s to low-70s. In the afternoon, highs in the mid-to-upper-90s return to the panhandle and west while highs in the low-90s return to the rest of the state.

Friday
All of the state will be rain-free with mostly sunny skies all day long. Morning lows will be in the low-to-mid-70s across the state. For the afternoon, highs will again be a scorcher in the west and panhandle as they top out in the upper-90s. Across the rest of the state, expect the low-to-mid-90s.
