Roller Coaster Temps This Weekend

We'll be seeing a classic Oklahoma temperature swing this weekend, so get ready for the ride. Following a warm Thursday for much of the state, temperatures will plummet over 10 degrees to the mid-to-upper-40s on Friday. Areas in the panhandle may see the low-40s for highs, with a slight chance of rain and snow during the day. Skies will be clear to partly cloudy elsewhere. On Friday night, as temperatures drop down to the 20s, expect a chance of flurries all across Oklahoma.

On Saturday, advancing warm air from the west will allow the panhandle and western Oklahoma to warm-up considerably. While highs in the east remain in the 40s, areas further west will see highs reach the 50s and maybe even the 60s come Saturday. Skies will be clear to mostly clear.

For Sunday, the warm air reaches all of the state, and everyone will enjoy spring-like temperatures. It will be warmest mainly in central and western Oklahoma, including the panhandle, with highs topping out at or over 60 degrees. Further east, highs may not get out of the 50s, but this will still be warmer than Saturday's 40s. Again, skies will be clear to mostly clear across all of the state.

So if you are enjoying the spring warmth, you will not have to wait long for it to come back. Enjoy it while it lasts, though, as Monday brings the return of colder temperatures with yet another cold front. Luckily, the temperatures will be right around normal, and the front will not bring any precipitation.
