Mild Fall Weather For The Week
With fall weather appearing in the state over the past couple of weeks, it seems like temperatures have hardly dipped into freezing temperatures the past few weeks. For the next seven days besides Wednesday, high temperatures will remain in the mid to high 60s with only slight chances of rain throughout the days.
For Tuesday night, expect showers of rain with a low in the 40s with winds moving out of the south to the north, up to 15-20 mph, later in the night. A cold front will be moving into the northwestern part of the state by 9pm Tuesday evening, and will send chilly temperatures with rain well into early Wednesday morning. Southeastern Oklahoma may experience heavy rains ahead of the cold front.
For Wednesday morning, rain will be lingering in the early hours, while temperatures will be dropping as the incoming cold front moves over the state. Lows will be in the mid to lower 40s in central Oklahoma with southerly and westerly winds from 10-15 mph prevailing behind the cold front. A freeze watch will take effect at 12am on Tuesday night until 8am Wednesday morning for northwestern and northern Oklahoma.
Looking into Wednesday evening, the front will be moving out of the state as rain chances decrease throughout the state. Rain should end early in the southeastern portion of the state, but some may linger in south central Oklahoma through Wednesday afternoon. Highs will be in the mid 50s the rest of the day with light winds out of the south and southeast at 5 mph.
