April-like Weather to Start the Week
Monday will be very nice across all of Oklahoma. Highs in the afternoon for central Oklahoma will be in the mid 70s. We don't usually see temperatures this warm, on average, until late April! As night falls, temperatures will remain warm with lows overnight only falling into the upper 50s to low 60s.
Tuesday will be the big weather story for the first part of this week. A severe weather event appears likely, but places in central Oklahoma like Oklahoma City and Norman will be on the fringe of this event. The models are still in disagreement where the severe weather will start, but it looks like strong to severe storms will impact the eastern half of Oklahoma. The farther east in Oklahoma you go, the better chance of seeing strong to severe thunderstorms. The main threats with this event will be damaging winds and large hail. An isolated weak tornado or two is possible in eastern Oklahoma.
Wednesday will be much cooler in the wake of a cold front that was associated with the severe threat Tuesday. Lows in central Oklahoma will be in the mid 30s and highs will be around 50ยบ.
